Latest News

I rarely get as excited about action figures as I was today when I scanned the "Republic News" on the Hasbro website.  Ladies and gents, 2004 may be the greatest year for Star Wars collectors yet!  One need only look at the upcoming products to see why I feel this way.  Click the picture above to check out what great figures await us all.  Beware!  Drooling on your keyboard can damage it!

The Cartoon Network Clone Wars website is officially up and operational!  This website is an incredible collection of resources, character profiles, episode information, and games all crafted in glorious flash animation!  Head on over to this excellent website by clicking the picture above and take in the coolest Star Wars eye-candy this side of Yavin!

A huge thanks to Star Wars En Direct for mentioning Coruscant Customs on their Star Wars on-line radio show!  In case you missed it (their servers were down) the guys (Sebastien, Lunatic, Kitfisto, and Raven) interviewed the godfather of Star Wars dioramas, Frank D'iorio (a.ka. Niub Niub).  Check out their stellar archives to listen to the show.  Click the link above to visit the site.

The Hasbro Jedi Master Point auctions have begun!  Head on over to jedimasterpoints.com to bid away those (what appeared useless until recently) Jedi master points on cool items like Jorg Scaul, the forgotten Cantina sets, and other fabulous Star Wars items!

UPDATE: It would appear as though things are a bit screwy on the Jedi  Master Point auctions.  The bids are already up to the 10k range!  I think I'm a addicted collector, and I don't have near that much.  My advice; hold on to your Jedi Master Points until Hasbro fixes the auctions                      - Adam-Wan

Strange thing about our Top 10 list of figures we want Hasbro to produce, Hasbro actually produced some!  Now you see why Star Wars fans love Hasbro.  Hasbro actually listens to fans! Way to go Hasbro!  Anyway, since Hasbro has been creating figures on our list, we had to update our Top 10's with even more figures we want Hasbro to make.  Check em out by clicking the Top 10s button on the Coruscant Customs Features above.

While these Master Replica Jango Fett blasters aren't cheap, they sure so look cool!  If you can afford to put down $450 on a Star Wars collectible, head on over to Master Replica's website and get them before they are gone (it's not like there are any available new figures to spend your cash on . . .).

If you were wondering why there was not an update posted on the site last week, now you know.  The front page of the site has gone through some major changes.  These changes will hopefully make the site easier to navigate as well as make it look more aesthetically pleaseing.  If you encounter any bad links or problems with the new front page please e-mail me.

Can't make it to the Wizard World convention in lovely Chicago?  Well, don't worry; Coruscant Customs will take you there!  I, Adam-Wan, will be attending, what looks to be, one of the coolest conventions this summer.  With a growing list of Star Wars and other Sci-fi franchise personalities, this convention looks like a mini-Star Wars Celebration.   The Star Wars celebrity list includes:

Amy Allen (Aayla Secura) Kenny Baker (R2-D2)
Shannon Baksa McRandle (Mara Jade)
Michonne Bourriague (Aurra Sing)
Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett)
Warwick Davis (Wickett, Wald, & more)
Jesse Jensen (Saesee Tiin)
Zachariah Jensen (Kit Fisto)
Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca)
Ray Park (Darth Maul)
Leeanna Walsman (Zam Wesell)

Additionally, there will tons on exclusive toys, including the silver Boba Fett, Gentle Giant's Blue Clonetrooper bust, Lord of the Rings army builders, Marvel mini-mates, etc.  Look for pictures (much like the Celebration II galleries), of the convention and all its goodies, on this site early next week.  Finally, I will be sporting a Coruscant Customs t-shirt and handing out cards and other goodies.  So, if you spot me say hello!

While 2003 figures are harder to find than Waldo on a map of China, we at Coruscant Customs are nevertheless moving forward with reviews of the figures we could find multiples of (so we could open one and keep one on the card).  Look for more 2003 Saga reviews when retailers wake up and realize that there are hungry, and disappointed, collectors out there.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Acklay Battle) #1

Darth Tyranus (Geonosian Escape) #3

Tusken Raider (Tatooine Camp Ambush) #6

Finally, we at Coruscant Customs, have finished the reviews for the basic 2002 Saga figures.  Sure, it only took us till the middle of the next year, but it's not like we can review many 2003 figures =).  If you are wondering why the rehashed figures were left off, it is because they will be reviewed when we get around to reviewing POTJ figures (some time in 2006 . . . just kidding).

Watto (Mos Espa Junk Dealer) #50

Tusken Raider with MassifF #52

Yoda (Jedi High Council) #53

After recovering from a computer crash, I Adam-Wan, am finally ready to update this site . . . If you've not seen the new Unleashed figures slated to come out this summer, then check out Hasbro's Republic News section.  Personally, i believe these new Unleashed figures could be the best yet (Especially the Han and Boba Fett).  I also sort of like the new dynamic packaging.  To tide you over till the new Unleashed figures hit retail, here are 3 Unleashed figure reviews!

Jango Fett

Darth Maul

Darth Vader

While it may seem like this site's updates have been slightly delayed recently, there is a good explanation.  Behind the scenes, this site's sole administrator, Adam-Wan,  has been wrist-deep in plaster in an attempt to recreate one of his favorite scenes from the Star Wars movies.  Well, finally this project has been completed and is ready for viewing.  To see what Adam-Wan has been tinkering with, click here.  If you are new to the site, or you you have not visited for a while, why not check out Blue Snaggletooth's ever-expanding Mos Espa cityscape.  You can see, what will probably be one of the largest constructed dioramas around, if you click here
Just because Adam-Wan has been focused on vintage figure goodness, doesn't mean he has forgot about the modern figures.  Here is another update to further catch up with our figure reviews,  I present 3 more new figure reviews of figures released last year.  To see all of our figure reviews click on the Hasbro icon to the left.

Anakin Skywalker (Tatooine Attack) #43

Ki-Adi-Mundi (Jedi Master) #44

Destroyer Droid (Geonosis Battle) #48

Here are 3 very new reviews of some very old figures.  So, break out a box of C-3PO's cereal, put on a Droids cartoon, and enjoy the nostalgia!

C-3P0

Darth Vader

Stormtrooper

Like many fans I thought the Special Edition version of the Trilogy was a neat way to "update" the trilogy with modern special effects.  Who didn't marvel at the computer generated Death Star trench battle, or the lengthened Wampa Scene.  In fact, some of the scenes were improvements over the original scene.  The Ewok celebration, for example, was much more palatable with the John Williams score than the chirp chirp Ewok song.  However, for real Star Wars fans the authentic Classic trilogy will always be the original theatrical release.  Uncle George has stated that he won't release the original trilogy in its pure form on DVD.  Above is a link to a petition that already has 30,000 signatures of Star Wars fans who will not settle for just the Special Editions . . . after all, no one  . . . and I mean no one, likes Greedo shooting first.

As some of you who often visit this site may know, Adam-Wan is a vintage Star Wars fanatic!  So, in keeping with the noble spirit of the Classic Trilogy, Adam-Wan presents 4 vintage Star Wars figure reviews.

   R2-D2 (Artoo Detoo)

Chewbacca

Luke Skywalker

Princess Leia Organa

It seems like only yesterday I was standing outside the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, staring in awe at the countless number of Star Wars fans in line.  It has been one full years since Celebration II, but the memories live on.  As a tribute to the great time had by all who attended, I have added a new page of pictures with comments to the Celebration II page.  You can visit this page by clicking the icon at the bottom of the left side menu, or click here.

The polls have closed and here are the results . . . We at Coruscant Customs wanted to know what not-produced Star Wars vehicle you guys wanted made the most?  It was a tough battle with the two front runners being separated by a very slim margin. A new poll is up!

33%

AT-TE Walker

27% Sith Infiltrator
11% Tie Defender
10% Geonosian solar sailer
19% All others

Typically when Hasbro places pictures of new figures on their website, I gleefully skip on over and look longingly at them.  However, these new figures look like Power Rangers rip-offs!  I give Hasbro credit when credit is due, but these figures look like third-rate retooled GI-Joe figures.  Every time I look at these figure I can't help but think of all the other characters who have never been molded into plastic, and I just dislike these figures all the more.  Well, I hate to be negative, but hey, the pictures speak for themselves.  See em here

With Hasbro making many neglected figures in the coming months, we at Coruscant Customs had to revamp our Top 10 lists (not that we are complaining mind you).  Check out who we still want immortalized in glorious plastic here or click the Top 10 button to the left.

Hasbro recently released pictures of 3 new Unleashed figures coming out this year.  This wave includes Emperor Palpatine, ROTJ Luke Skywalker, and AOTC Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Click here to read more about these neat-o figs!  Hasbro has also announced two new ROTJ Luke Skywalker 3 3/4" figures!  Check out these cool new resculpts here.

Three brand new AOTC figures are headed to friendly neighborhood retail stores this summer!  Hasbro has recently released detailed pictures of each.  It appears as though 2003 is the year of the individual figure environment stand, which is great for conceptualizing dioramas!!  Read what Hasbro has to say here.  With Hasbro making figures straight from out top 10 list, look for a revised top 10 list very soon!

If your like me, then your a huge fan of Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack.  Well Star Wars faithful, there is very cool news coming from starwars.com and Cartoon Network!  Genndy Tartakovsky the creator of Samurai Jack has signed on to create 20 3-minute short cartoons about the Clone Wars!  Click the poster above to see the cartoon poster and click here to read more!  Here's hoping there will be a new line of figures in this cartoon style!
