Is
this figure worth buying? On the plus side this figure does sport a
more cinematically accurate "head" sculpt. In the Episode
1 version, the Destroyer Droid's middle "eye" was straight and
didn't protrude. The AOTC version has corrected this slight
oversight. However, on the negative side, the action feature blast
features are very ugly. Because of the stupid action feature, the
Destroyer Droid's arms are three times as thick as they need to be.
So does the improved "head" sculpt make up for the arm
sculpt. In my opinion, no. I prefer the Episode 1 version,
which is a good think since I have 15 of them. |
This figure is only good for
large battle-scenes and not much else, and when comparing it to the EP I
version of the Destroyer droid, there is no comparison. This figure
is OK, and has a few minor improvements over the first offering (EP1)
mainly the laser/head area but as a total package it is no where near its
counter-part. From the paint app and articulation to the lame ass action
feature (did I mention how much I hate action features); this figure just
can't cut it. Why remake a figure and not make it better than its
predecessor? HASBRO? Anyone? Oh well - the bright side is in order to be
accurate with your toy playing; you need a ton of these guys!
