My Library

A Whosoever Church: Welcoming Lesbians and Gay Men into African American Congregations
Gary David Comstock

I picked this book up while in Milwaukee with Soulforce. We were at the 2003 Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and I saw it in the Augsburg Fortress bookstore.

Songs of Praise: Meditating on the Word of God
Tomas Vium Olesen (Editor)

Another book I bought in Milwaukee.

The New Testament and Homosexuality
Robin Scroggs

I heard Professor Scroggs speak at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky in October, 2001. I actually did not intend to buy his book for myself, but while in Milwaukee with Soulforce standing vigil outside the 2003 ELCA, I was in a conversation with a local Pentecostal man who was very anti-gay. We talked a lot about scripture, and afterwards I asked him to hang on a second while I went and got a book for him. I ran up to the Lutheran bookstore and got this book, but he was gone when I got back outside.

Jesus and Nonviolence: A Third Way
Walter Wink

Another book I bought in Milwaukee.

Encarta 2004 DVD Encyclopedia

I installed the entire 2.78 Gigabytes to my hard-drive for quick access instead of having to load the DVD each time. This reference library is five-star fantastic!

Undefended Love
Jett Psaris and Marlena S. Lyons

My friend, Dotti Berry, stated that she was trilled with this book and recommended it to me. It is a book on relationships and I look forward to reading it very soon.

Anything But Straight:
Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth

Wayne Besen

An excellent book! I ran across it in the Gay Studies section while shopping at Barnes and Noble. The foreword is written by Mel White of Soulforce. I like Wayne's writing style and though the subject of gays being shamed by religion into forced heterosexuality is tragic, the book is upbeat - with several paragraphs that made me laugh outloud.
