Unfortunately, the
real menu does not look like the one in this picture.
However, all the things that you can do in your software are ultimately
somewhere in the Menu. Just pick and choose your topics. Watch for little
arrows! This indicates that there are even more choices.
File: Open, Save
as, Print, Exit
Edit: Cut,
Paste, Select
All, Find
View: Toolbars, Full
screen
Window: Organize Windows
and see Open files.
Help. Version and Help topics
 | The underlined letter indicates that you can also choose that
option by choosing that letter on your keyboard. |
 | There is almost always an option in the menu that is called Options or
Preferences or Settings or Customize. If your software
does not function the way you want it to, find this option in your menu and
select your preferences. You can set your choices for the spell check, for
the homepage, for the save procedure, for your preferred folder, etc. |
 | Watch the menu for shortcuts. Instead of Menu Edit Select all, it
is easier to hold CTRL-A. It is easier in Microsoft Explorer to hit Escape
then to scramble for the mouse and hit the stop key. Other shortcuts are
mentioned in HERE. |
 | From the keyboard, you can access the menu by pressing the ALT key.
After you release the ALT key, press the letter that is underlined in your
choice. ALT-F-S means: Go to the Menu, Go to File, Choose Save. |
 | In a full screen view, the menu is often hidden, until you move your mouse
to the top of the screen where is usually is. Otherwise there might be a
shortcut |
