This is not your traditional baby quilt — rather, it's a colorwash, aka “watercolor.” Another short-term project, with a bit of extra crunch added when the recipient(s) announced they were moving out of state.

Why is it pink AND blue? Because it's for fraternal twins, girl and boy!

Squares are 1.5 inches, 30x40 blocks, so approx. 45 inches wide by 60 long, but actually closer to 46 wide. (Yes, that means there are 1200 blocks… and my sister said she'd like to have a similar quilt, only QUEEN BED SIZE…) Very simple quilting, just diagonal rows following the direction of the purple dividing section (bottom left rising to upper right). I used masking tape for a stitch guide, so no marking.

Purple swirlies?
