SIGNS OF A LAME WEB HOSTING COMPANY:
- They farm the business out to some other company.
- Their (non-updated) support web page lists a tech support email address which no longer works.
- Their site runs on Windows and doesn't provide an Apache-style folder view.
- Their site only works well with Internet Exploder, which is not my favorite browser.
- Their online tech support tells you to contact that other company, which has already told you
to contact "your provider" and not answered your email reply.
- That other company only has voice mail, no live agents.
- The logon to renew your domain online asks you for a logon name which has not been provided to you.
- When you follow the username convention in the instructions they sent, it doesn't work.
Wondering if switching to Go Daddy would solve some of these problems... for sure, Go Daddy DOESN'T use
Windows servers.
and you can guess the name of the company I'm talking about, I bet! (hint: take the name from this page's URL and add
"webhosting.")
