1) Making a timeline in Excel allows you to spread your information over several pages. (Gridlines do not print by default)

2) You can type in two dates, and then highlight them. Dragging the bottom right corner of the highlighted cells automatically creates the consecutive dates in the neighboring cells.

3) To preview your result, click on View .. Page Break Preview

4 To move several objects simultaneously, click on each of them, while holding your SHIFT key.

5) To keep them together always, first highlight several objects, then right-click with your mouse on one object and choose Grouping .. Group

6) Inserting shadows or depth to your callout boxes can add an interesting dimension to your time line. Click on the boxes on the far right on your drawing toolbar.

Remember not to clutter your workspace too much. Less distraction is better.

7) You can also insert pictures that illustrate your time line.

	You can insert from a file (Insert .. Picture .. From File)
	You can insert from clipart (Insert .. Picture .. Clipart)
	or from the Internet (right click on a picture .. Copy. Then switch to Word or Excel, insert a word box and click Paste.
