When I became a student of Meisterin Katarina Helene's in early 2002 I did so with the assumption that should things go well between us for the next 6 months, that I extended the honor of  being taken by her as an apprentice.  To help myself prepare for that evaluation I began to create a piece of C&I that I would give to her swearing my dedication to the scribal arts and her house.  The piece incorporates my heraldic Swan and Katarina Helene's Unicorn, she's in the border dancing gracefully with tools of the trade, and I'm sitting at my scribal desk in the "A" painting.  The proportion of the desk is quite large compared to my figure, but that was done on purpose to express the vast quantities of knowledge I have yet to acquire.

Details from the apprentice piece.
