[3] Obituary - Haden C. Cooksey OCTOBER 14, 1916 – JANUARY 21, 2018 ge 101. Passed away on January 21, 2018 after a brief illness. Haden was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather and above all else treasured his time with family. His civic engagements included: Board member of Goodwill Industries, Charter member and Past President of Melrose Civitan, and a long-time member of Dynamo Class of Belmont Heights Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Cooksey. Survived by daughter, Emily Cooksey Berry (Bill) of Franklin, TN; son, Terrence H. Cooksey (Susan) of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Terry H. Cooksey, Jr., Trish Barnard (Daren), Jennifer Winokur, Kevin M. Walsh, Scott Cooksey (Krissy) and Grant Cooksey (Leigh); 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret West of Dickson, TN and Phoebe Swift of Cheyenne, WY; devoted niece, Gwen Hayes and nephew, Joe Wall and family; The Glidden Boys; staff and family of Brighton Gardens of 12 years; Guardian Hospice; and Blue Sky. Funeral Service will be held at eleven-thirty in the morning on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Woodlawn with visitation two hours prior. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Survived by wife, Virginia Adams Cooksey; son, George (Miriam) Cooksey, McEwen, TN; daughters, Janet (Bob) Potter, Elizabethtown, KY, Gina (Gregg) Evans, Lexington, KY, Kimi (Jonathan) Proctor, McEwen, Crystal (Steve) Petty, Dickson; brother, Haden Crouch Cooksey, Brentwood, TN; sisters, Margaret Eleanor West, Dickson and Phoebe Lou Swift, Cheyenne, WY; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, George Tubb Cooksey, Sr. and Mary Eleanor Crouch Cooksey; brothers, William Andrew Cooksey, George Tubb Cooksey, Jr., Norman Clement Cooksey and Jesse Rook Cooksey, and by great- granddaughter, Anna Michaela Nenni. Remains are at Edgewood United Methodist Church, where family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday, with Masonic service at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at the church from 1 until service time. Funeral will be at 3 p.m., with Rev. Carol Miller, Rev. George Adair, Rev. Adam Potter and Rev. Crystal Petty officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Cooksey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Edgewood UMC. Services are under the direction of TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME
