Dr. John Stephen Crouch 4 (Hardine/Harding 3, John 2, Richard1) was born in 1810 [9], and died before November 29, 1879 in Montgomery County, TN. He married 1) Susan C. (an Indian girl [9]) about 1836 probably in Kentucky. She died before 1848. He married 2) Mary Brisco Combs [7] 1 AUG 1848 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She was born 1828 in Kentucky and died in 1871.

1. Martha Roses Crouch 5, born June 24, 1838. She died August 26, 1894 and is burried in Sango Cemetery, Montgomery County, TN. Married Joseph H. Hopkins 4 DEC 1860 Montgomery County, TN.2. Sarah Jane Crouch 5 born October 22, 1840; She died July 20, 1885 and is burried in Sango Cemetery, Montgomery County, TN.
3. John Harden Crouch 5 born about 1840. He was a doctor [11] and resided at what is now 3040 Trough Springs Road in a house that was razed in the 1970's. Is this the J.H. Crouch who married Alice Neblett on 3 October 1877 in Montgomery County, TN.? [13]

4. Mary Francis Crouch 5 born June 25, 1849. Married Zachariah Grant. Mary Francis is burried in the Old Grant Cemetery in Montgomery County, TN. has a Mary Fannie Crouch Grant born June 25, 1849, died December 23, 1914, wife of J.Z. Grant. "Fannie" was a nickname for Francis.5. William Houston Crouch 5 born September 17, 1851 (was he named for his maternal grandfather Huston Combs [5] ?); died October 18, 1903 ; married Margaret Henry Hunter, 1881, Montgomery Co. TN.. She was born May 28, 1857 and died February 21, 1920 Montgomery County, TN. [1] He resided on a plantation in a two story frame home which stood until the 1970's across the road from his brother Dr. J.H. Crouch.[11]
6. Julia J. Crouch 5 born about 1854.
7. Julia Indiana Crouch 5 born March 20, 1854; married Madison "MATT" R. ROGERS, 11 May1879, Montgomery Co. Tn.. Died August 13, 1887 and burried in Sango Cemetery, Montgomery County, TN. Children: 1) Benjamin Edward Rogers B. 1 JUL 1880, Montgomery County, TN.. 2) Annie B. Rogers B. 2 NOV 1885 Montgomery County, TN. 3) Robert T. Rogers B. 24 DEC 1886 Montgomery County, TN.
8. Catherine (or Katherine) Zarilda Crouch 5 born October 8th, 1856; married T. W. WINN (Mary Elinor Crouch said it was Willey S. Winn [9], need additional source) in 1881, Montgomery Co. TN.. Died Aug. 29, 1911 and burried in Little Hope Church Cemetery, Montgomery County, TN.
9. Annie Eliza Crouch 5 born November 29, 1859 Montgomery County, TN.; married Edwin Charles Bates [9], 24 June 1886 [13], Montgomery Co. TN. Two children 1) Mary Bates, born ABT. 1872 Montgomery County, TN. 2) William Elwin Bates, born OCT 1887 Montgomery County, TN. See biographical sketch in the Montgomery County, TN by Montgomery Co. 12. Hayden Crouch 5 (wedding record says Haden Crouch) born February 9, 1867. Grew to be seven feet tall. Married Ollie C. Forrest (widow - Ohio death records say her parents were Carl Umpheries & Mary Parcell [14]) on 20 April 1903 in Franklin County, OH [12] and lived in Columbus, OH.[9] She was born 26 Febuary 1870 and died 24 July 1945. [14]
