Thomas Harris Crouch 4 (John 3, Richard 2, Richard 1) born August 14,1788 [6] in Richmond, Chesterfield County, Virginia; died October 31, 1856 [7] and buried Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond City, Chesterfield County, Virginia. Married Molly "Mary" Brook Temple [8] born October 10, 1799 in Richmond "Ampthill", Chesterfield County, Virginia, the daughter of Robert Temple and Elizabeth Skyren, on November 25, 1819 in Chesterfield County, Virginia by the Rev. John D. Blair[21]. She died March 16th,1878,. [13][16] Mrs. Molly B. Crouch,; aged 80.[10][16] In 1856 they lived E.S.3rd. [12]

Children of Thomas Harris and Mary Brook (Temple) Crouch were:

1. Robert Temple Crouch 5 born 1821 in Pb. Chesterfield Co., Virginia

2. John G. Crouch 5, born September 9,1822 [9][1], graduated University of Virginia 1840[15], died August 19, 1853.[11] [18][22] with burial in the Lafayette Cemetery New Orleans, La.[14]

3. Walter V. Crouch 5 [11] Born April 21, 1826, died May 18, 1902 with burial in the Lafayette Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. Married 1) Annie E. Green. She was born July 26, 1845 and died April 6, 1874 2) Martha R. Haughton [14]

4. Bernard S. Crouch 5, born circa 1827 [9].

5. Infant Daughter Crouch, born 1829, died November 19, 1829.[20]

6. Lucy Ann Crouch 5, born 1832 in VA. [9] (Note: Thomas Harris Crouch 4's brother Richard Crouch 4 also had a daughter named Lucy Ann Crouch and it was Richard Crouch 4's daughter who married Major Robert Henry Temple. See the link for the headstone of Major Robert Henry Temple.)

7. Elizabeth "Betty" Skyren Crouch 5 born about 1835 [9] in Pb. Chesterfield Co., Virginia

8. Catherine Spotswood Crouch, born September 11, 1838, died September 21, 1847 age 9 years and 10 days.[19].

9. Emily T. Crouch 5, born circa 1838 [9]. Died June 30, 1856 at the home of her mother[17]

Samuel Bassett French (1820-1898), attorney, judge, Confederate officer, and editor, was a Norfolk native who lived in Chesterfield County and Richmond. (Accession 21332) Between 1890 and 1897 and in preparation for an intended biographical dictionary to be titled Annals of Prominent Virginians of the XIX Century, French compiled biographical information on almost 9,000 men, often obtaining information either from the subject or members of the immediate family.

  • [23] Richmond Dispatch, October 7, 1890 - Notice of Henrico Courts - "The fall term of the Henrico Circuit Court, Judge Beverley R. Wellford, Jr., begun yesterday.  Court was in session for some time and several decrees were entered.  The will of Mrs.Lucy Crouch was admitted to probate.  Mr. Robert Crouch qualified as executor for the estate.  He gave a bond in the sum of $2,500.
