We'll follow the path Strider chose: off the Great East Road and into the wilderness. We're
heading up Bree Hill, cutting cross country toward the Bree-Land village of Archet. Strider took a circuitous route on purpose, hoping to throw off any pursuit.
"'Not a "short cut", I hope,' said Pippin. 'Our last short cut through woods nearly ended in disaster.'
'Ah, but you had not got me with you,' laughed Strider. 'My cuts, short or long, don't go wrong.
