135-139 Miles
It was great to stop at the Prancing Pony and we can be glad that our visit was less
eventful than the hobbits! They survived an attack by the Black Riders as did Fatty Bolger-way back in Crickhollow-on the very same night (September 29)!
Of course, there was much good come of the hobbits stop in Bree. They met Strider and
accepted his help to continue their journey. "All that is gold does not glitter..."
We continue on the Great East Road through Bree and leave the town through the West
Gate in the hedge, following the hobbits and their new guide. Keep your eye out for Bill Ferny's tumble-down shack there just before we leave town.
