Ancestors of Jay Scott Risner-1

Ninth Generation

256. Hans Michel Risner was born 1707 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He married Catherine HONEYCUTT.

Hans Michael Risner came to Pennsylvania USA in 1732 from Germany. Later on, siblings Johann Casper Reisner, and Tobias Risner came over. Hans Michael we believe, was born in Holland to a German father and a Dutch mother. Want to know more about Han's family in Germany/Holland.

NOT SURE ABOUT THIS RELATIONSHIP

I HAVE ALSO THOUGHT RISNER WAS A JEWISH NAME, BUT HANS MICHEL REISNER BELONGED TO THE
MONOCACY LUTHERAN CONGREGATION AND ITS SUCCESSOR, THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH
OF FREDERICK, FREDERICK COUNTY,MARYLAND. I FOUND THIS IN THE MARYLAND GERMAN CHURCH
RECORDS, VOLUME 3

Arrived in Philadelphia on 'Friendship' 20 Sept 1738, age 20

Jacob Zorn landed in PA in 1730 on a ship from Wertemberg. He was 20 yrs old.
Wertemberg is in Germany today. I think then it was part of the Holy Roman Empire.

There is a Zorn Halle in the region. Perhaps Jacob's ancestry can be found there.

NOTE: From Thomas Zornes, Apr 1997: "Name Jacob Zorn/Zern, b. 1718, Germany.
d. 1756, Pendleton Co., WVA. In notes:
1738 arrived in Philadelphia 20 Sep 1738 from Rotterdam on "Friendship" commanded by Henry Beach. 20 years old when he arrived coming
from Germany".
"1738 Jacob Zorn is found to be 20 years old in 1738 on one of the
references of Immigration Lists".
"Located in Pike Co., PA for about 4 years".
"In 1742 is found in the territory later to be known as Pendleton Co.,
WVA".
"1743-1746 confirmed arrival of Jacob Zorn. Found in the List of Members of the Tulpehocken Church in PA".
"1751 married Maria Catherina (Ruleman???)".
"Found in Pendleton Co., in 1756 p229".
"Died 1756".
"Was among the first settlers to die in the Territory 1755/56".
"Died 1755, estate probated 1756".
"History of Pendleton County by Morton".
"1763 Purchased 200 acres from Robert Green on South Fork Creek for $55.33, The other 400 acres went to Jacob Ruleman and Catharine
Ruleman p387 - (Tom adds:) "This seems to be a misunderstanding".;

I just found where Jacob Zorn landed in Penn. on the ship Friendship in 1738. He ( and the other passengers) are listed as Palantinate. Other
Zorn listed are Andreas in 1752, Casper sept1754 & Conrad dec1754. They too are listed as from Palatine and one of them from Wirtemberg
(sorry - don't remember which) Palatine is a reagion of what we call Germany - about 1730 it was still part of the Holy Roman Empire. Anyway,
the Rhine runs through it and the area west of the Rhine is Wurttemberg (there should be an umlat over the u)so I'd guess that' where the name
originated, although I understand Zorn in found in Poland and Russia too. Zorn can also mean scorn.

479. Catherine Ruleman was born 1729. [Parents]
