Closing Prayer to Jesus Christ Crucified

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself on my knees in Your sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul, I pray and beg You to impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope, and charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm desire of amendment, while with deep affection and grief of soul I contemplate Your five most precious Wounds, having before my eyes that which David spoke in prophecy: "They pierced My hands and My feet; they have nmbered all My bones."

God has loved us from all eternity. So He says: Remember I first loved you. You had not come to be, nor did the world yet exist, but I loved you already. From all eternity I have loved you."

Saint Alphonsus Liguori

Stabat Mater (last five verses)

Let me, to my latest breath,
in my body bear the death
of that dying Son of thine.
Christ, when Thou shalt call me hence,
be Thy Mother my defense,
be Thy Cross my victory.
Wounded with His every wound,
steep my soul till it hath swooned
in His very Blood away!
While my body here decays,
may my soul Thy goodness praise,
safe in Paradise with Thee.
Be to me, O Virgin, nigh
lest in flames I burn and die,
in His awful judgment day.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
