**My blog can also be found on MySpace and comments can be left.**
I was bored and was looking around on some old discs I have. I came across some of my old homepages from the past 8 years. Before the days of MySpace and maybe before the term "blog" got it's name, I shared my "blog" with the world on my homepage. Homepages are sort of a lost art form these days, especially with the advent of MySpace and other social networking sites. Homepages actually seem kinda cheesy these days. Just remember, every internet geek had one! Remember guestbooks?
I had a lot of traffic to my homepage back in the day. A big chunk of traffic came from people wanting to download the game Jezzball. Another chunk of traffic came from Napster. I had made some phone pranks and seeded them on Napster. Apparently the files spread like wildfire and the URL to my homepage was in the ID3 tag of the file. You can still to this day search some P2P programs for "phone pranks" and find some of my old phone pranks. In 2003-2004 I again started getting traffic from a "how-to" guide I made that had been featured on VideoHelp.com. Just to answer a few questions... Yes, I actually did like ICP at one time. Yes, I was obsessed with Sporty Spice. Yes, I had the domain mikemelancholic.com at one time. Yes, the screenshot for 4/23/01 I used a cheesy pre-made webpage template (actually I first used this cheesy webpage template for a Soul Asylum page that I had made in mid-2000. Believe it or not, that page is still online and can be seen here). I thought I'd share some screenshots from these old pages. Some of you may have seen them before. Some are cool, most are cheesy. Anyway, here's a trip down memory lane (in chronological order): ![](assets/images/old_page_screenshots/1999-12-01.jpg)

Bonus: Here's some non-homepage sites that I had involvement in:I used to chat in the now-defunct MSN Chat room. There was a Cincinnati chat room and there were a lot of regulars. I made this site for everyone to share pictures of themselves. This site was more about function than looks as you can tell by the screenshot. ![](assets/images/old_page_screenshots/chat-cincinnati-2000-07-01.jpg)
Here's the Soul Asylum page that I mentioned above: ![](assets/images/old_page_screenshots/soulasylumfans-2000-08-24.jpg)
"Twiztid Web circa October 2001" This was one of the most popular sites for the rap group Twiztid. I partnered up with a guy named "Rigamortis" to start this site back in the summer of 2001. One thing that made this site so popular was the fact that I had the group's entire catalog of MP3s available for download. I actually hosted the download page on my home computer. Back then Insight used @home as the service provider and had unlimited upstream bandwidth and a static IP address. Ahh those were the days!
When DVD burners first became somewhat affordable, Brandon and I decided that we could make a DVD compilation of the videos we made while visiting some of the local "haunted places". I threw together NKY Most Haunted website to go along with the DVD. Unfortunately the DVD never got made and the website never got updated. The site is still up and can be found here:http://mikemelancholic.home.insightbb.com/hauntings/

Here's an oldie I found. It's the very first logo I ever made for my homepage back in '98. I called my homepage "Melanie C, The Cure, Metallica and More..." I still remember the name of the font I used for the red text, it's called Valhalla. It was also used on the artwork for The Cure's Lovesong single.
