Four-Way Lodge was opened in 1933 on the eastern shores of Torch Lake, one of Michigan's largest and most beautiful lakes. Opened as a camp for girls to experience all that nature had to offer, it became a summer home for multiple generations of campers and played a major role in the development of most. This website is dedicated to the memory of Four-Way and as a means to rekindle past friendships by reconnecting through a common bond.

12-13-06  NEW!!!! Reunion Pictures in Photo Gallery Page 3

12-11-06  Biography Booklet With Reunion Pictures and Address List was sent out by Sally Christiansen Harris in December of 2006. She did a beautiful job on it and waited as long as possible to include all biographies before publishing. If you did not submit a bio and would like for us to have yours, the form to use is on the special events page. If you email the finished form to Cindy Black, I will make sure it is sent out to everybody on our e-mail list. They can print it it and add it to their book. If you did not receive the book but would like one, there are still a few left. Please contact Sally Harris.

***July 25-27 Reunion Recap

August 12, 2006

Dear Camp Friends,

When first planning the events for this reunion, we questioned whether we should actually engage in activities that we  participated in at camp. Not knowing how it might be received, we decided to go ahead with a camper-type schedule and with just enough free time to let people catch up.  And, upon reflection of this action-packed event, I think we were all very pleased with the results. Making plaques at the “arts and craft” table upon arrival, presenting them at dinner, singing after meals and to Charlie, a mid-morning hike, a noon time box lunch at the Boones, exploring the old grounds, and a reenactment of the Exhibition Ride with authentic people in it, no less, was quite entertaining for all! The final little surprise we pulled after Dan’s enchanting songs and while singing the Camp Alma Mater at the Hayo Went Ha cookout, was a very touching time for all of us. The venue of a rustic lodge sitting high above Torch Lake and the culmination of a memory-filled day and a half set most everyone’s emotions on edge. Plus, we knew this special occasion was a success.

We were all so blessed to have parents who afforded us a true summer camp experience as young people. The opportunity to relive some of those memories has been a true delight. I (Cindy)  think that watching everyone meet up with good friends after so many years was one of my favorite parts of the reunion. I felt like I was a chorus director, waving my arms, and bringing each group in at the right time. And, what a performance you ALL gave! We hope that this event will be the impetus to keep us all in touch.

We plan to keep the web site up for at least a year, when our domain name comes up for renewal. If you have any questions or want to post a thought on it, don’t hesitate to get in touch. You should be receiving a reunion booklet down the road. In it, we hope to recap some of the great times we had together in that 48-hour period. In addition, you will receive addresses of everyone we have found, and a brief bio on anyone who turned one in to us.

We wish you all the best as time treks on.   We’re Four-Way Born and Four-Way Bred!!!!!!!
