CROUCH, Jane S.Age 88 of Tullahoma, passed away on December 17, 2008. Born Jane Smotherman to Fletcher and Pauline Smotherman on April 28, 1920. Jane lived in Murfreesboro, TN until she was ten years old. Her family then moved to Tullahoma, TN where she immediately met a young twelve-year old boy, who was to become the love of her life and husband of fifty-two years, Hubert A. Crouch, Jr. Jane had a variety of interests. She was an avid antique collector, penned countless country music songs, one of which, "Lovin' What Your Lovin' Does to Me", was recorded by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, and authored an autobiography entitled "It Had To Be You", a title she borrowed from the old standard that had been her and her husband's song throughout their many years together.

Survived by wife, Jane Smotherman Crouch, Nashville; son Huburt Adair Crouch III, Dallas, Tx.; daughters, Sharon Crouch May, Tullahoma, Tn.; brother Allan Richard Crouch, Tullahoma; three grandchildren, John Christopher Young, Atlanta, Ga., Hubert Jamison Crouch, Dallax, Tx. & Lucille Adair Crouch, Dallas, Tx. His remains are at Broadway Chapel, 1715 Broadway, where the family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 30 at St. Pauls Southern Methodist Church, 5035 Hillsboro Rd., with Dr. Ronald Carrier officiating.
