William Hardin Crouch 4 (Hardine 3, John 2, Richard 1) was born December 12, 1813 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and died January 10, 1892 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. [1] He married Margaret Jane Rudolph August 18, 1846. She was born August 1829 in Tennessee. He lived at Sango, roughly eight miles east of Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee.
Children of William Crouch and Margaret Rudolph are:
1. John Crouch 5, born about 1848, Montgomery County, Tennessee; died before 1860.2. Dorothea A. Crouch 5 born November 13, 1850, Montgomery County, Tennessee; married Edward Baker Ross, 1870, Montgomery Co. Tn..
3. Jack Crouch 5 born August 1852, Montgomery County, Tennessee; died July 22, 1927, Clarksville, Tennessee; married Margaret Wilkerson, October 21, 1884, Montgomery Co. Tn.; born November 7, 1860, Tennessee; died December 28, 1930, Clarksville, Tennessee.
4. Charles Richard Crouch 5 born March 30, 1854, Montgomery County, Tennessee; died August 5, 1947, Tullahoma, Tennessee; married Angie M. Wilkerson, November 29, 1877, Montgomery Co. Tn.; born August 1857, Tennessee; died March 21, 1943, Tullahoma, Tennessee.

12 WILLIAM H. CROUCHWilliam Crouch was born December 12, 1813 in Tennessee, the son of Hardin and Dorothea Murray Crouch, both from England. Hardin was a farmer, He died in 1845 and Dorothea died in 1859. (Hardine Crouch, like all other Colonial Americans born before American Independence, was technically an Englishman. Thus the statements in several biographical sketches within the "History of Tennessee Illustrated" that the previous generation were Englishman, thus leading to the assumption that their parents came straight from England.)
William attended county schools and was a farmer raising and selling tobacco extensively.
In 1846 he married Margaret Rudolph. They had three children: Dorothea A., Jack and Charles R.
William had a large, beautiful residence on his farm about eight miles from Clarksville. His sons farmed with him.

Will Book S, Page 294, W. H. Crouch (brother to John S. Crouch) is appointed guardian to John S. Crouch's minor heirs, Annie E. Crouch, Charles S. Crouch and Haydon Crouch on the 29th of November 1879. Dr. John S. Crouch is burried in Sango Cemetery, Montgomery County, TN.
