James Turner Crouch 5 (John H. 4, Richard 3, John 2, Richard1) born October 1, 1857 and died November 21st, 1901 at Rome, Georgia. His first wife was Elizabeth Turner Carter. They married on November 19, 1887 at Sumner Co., Tenn. She was born 11-6-1857 and died October 16, 1888 at Rome, Georgia. Her parents were John Turner Carter and Phebe Ann Turner.

J. T. Crouch, Sr. was a pharmacist and operated a drug store in Rome, Georgia around 1894

James T. Crouch and Elizabeth T. Carter had one known child:

1. Will Carter Crouch 6 born July 24, 1888 at Gallatin, Tennessee. She died August 24, 1973 and is buried at San Angelo, Texas. She married William James Nogues on August 6, 1909.

James Turner Crouch second marriage was to Lillian McGuinis Crowley and per a newspaper article Lillian Crowley died at Waynesville, N.C. on August 8, 1899 after a critical illness. Their children were:

2. James Turner Crouch,Jr. 6, born on July 4, 1895 at Rome, Georgia. Registration Card from April, 1942 at Baltimore, Maryland shows his birthdate as July 4, 1896 at Rome, Georgia. It shows his wife as Catherine P. Crouch and that he was an attorney.

Winnett Crouch shows James Turner 5 Crouch was born in Paducah, Ky., however the 1850 Todd County Census shows James T. Crouch , the son of John Crouch and Mary Crouch as being 1 year old at the time of the 1850 Todd County Census. (see http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ky/county/todd/census/1850Dist2.txt ) The 1860 Lovelaceville, Ballard County, Kentucky Census of which I have a PDF of the Census form has John and Mary S. Crouch's son James T. Crouch as being 2 years old. And somewhere or other I managed on James Turner Crouch's father's page I show an 1870 Lovelaceville, Ballard County, Kentucky Census and James T. Crouch is 2 years old. Another quandry is that the 1900 Census for Rome, Floyd County, Georgia has J T Crouch born 'Ky'as being 61 years of age which would make him having been born in 1839.
