Sarah 'Sally' Crouch 3 (John 2, Richard 1) born 29 November 1764, chr. 23 Dec 1764. She married Stephen Woodson on the 9th of August 1789. He was born twenty miles from Richmond, Virginia the son of John Woodson and _____ unknown. As a young man he settled in Goochland County. [4] He married twice; first to Sally Crouch with whom all his children were born. The name of his second wife is unknown. After the death of his brother Thomas's wife, he took their two orphan girls Eliza and Mary Ann to his home and raised them as his own.

Stephen Woodson and Sarah Crouch's children were:

1. Elizabeth Mattox Woodson, born 1790 in Goochland County, Virginia; married Jesse Bailey. Elizabeth Mattox Woodson Bailey did not die until in April 1856.

Her daughters were: Evalina Bailey who married Joshua Brown; Indiana Bailey who married Goodlett Brown; Elizabeth Bailey who married M. D. O. Dennis and left 1 child, Zebedee P. Dennis; Sarah A. Bailey who married Neander Y. Cavitt. Her sons were John Stephen Bailey, Augustus Bailey and Jesse W. Bailey. [1]

2. John Stephen Woodson, born 1791 in Goochland County, Virginia

3. Susanna E. Woodson, born 1793; married Richard Bridgewater in Goochland County, Virginia in 1815. She died before 1839.

Stephen Woodson purchased the 853 acre North Carolina Military Land Grant of Charles O'Neal (No. 1655) located in Montgomery County on Red River. Division of the property was not made for many years, but it has been determined from county records that Susanna Woodson Bridgewater died before 1839 and left daughters Louisa, Adeline and Mary, who married three Williams brothers-George Taylor Williams, Joseph Bargett Williams and Roger Williams respectively. She also left another daughter Amanda and sons Woodson, Chesley and Richard Bridgewater.
