25-29 Miles
Isn't it hard to believe that we've made it past the 25 mile mark!
It was Pippin (who else?) who decided that he'd gone far enough without a meal, "'The road
goes on for ever,' said Pippin; 'but I can't without a rest. It is high time for lunch.'"
We can enjoy the view of the Green Hill Country of the Shire as we gaze out from the
hilltop where the hobbits took their lunch break at about the 25 mile mark. it is here, as the travelers looked out toward the borders of the Shire that Frodo quotes from Bilbo's poem,
"The road goes ever on and on..."
