Contest Rules for Second House Contest.

Think of each on-line walking group as a House: the Shieldmaidens (WWEC), the TORC Walkers, the TORN Walkers, the MT Walkers, the BB Loons, and the Barrow Downs Walkers. Individual members can win points for their House in the inter-forum contests. At the opening night of ROTK, the House with the most points wins the Championship and all the Glory that comes with it! So Walkers, prepare to fight for the Honor of your House, because The Walk to Rivendell announces their Second Inter-Forum Contest:

"Inter-forum Motto/Slogan Competition"

It's time for us to have a motto of our own!

Our second intergroup challenge is to develop a motto or slogan to share between walkers of all groups that are united in the Walk to Rivendell. All submitted mottos will be displayed on the "Walk to Rivendell" website where we can all vote for the motto we like best. Requirements:

1. Contestants will write a motto with original words. This should be a motto that shows we are proud to be walking in Middle Earth as a group.

2. The motto will be submitted directly to the Eowyn Challenge via a mailform.  If the motto is written in Elvish or some other Middle Earth language, then it must be sent as an image in either .gif or .jpg to eowynchallenge@insightbb.com.

3. All completed entries will be submitted by June24, 2003.  The mottos/slogans will then be displayed anonymously on the "Eowyn Challenge" site. The writer's name will not be on displayed on their work during the voting period to encourage impartial voting.

4. After the motto deadline has passed there will be a 2 week period to vote anonymously for your favorite motto. The winner and their walking group will be announced on July 14, 2003. The winner's affiliated walking group will earn 100 points for their group. The walking group that has the next most popular motto will earn 50 points, and remaining groups will receive 25 points. A House cannot receive more than 100 points or less than 25 (if they submit at least ONE motto).

5. After the competition, all mottos will be displayed permanently on the "Eowyn Challenge" site with the names of the writers credited.

6. Rights to winning mottos will be granted to the exclusive ownership of the Eowyn Challenge site.  Permission must be granted for potential nonprofit use on Walk to Rivendell products.  (Any profit made on any item sold through the Eowyn Challenge will go to a charity supported by the walkers.)
