Cache

The "cache" is the directory where all the temporary files of the Internet are stored. You computer deletes the old files if when there is no more space for the newer ones to come in. A good way to look at these files is with the Windows explorer. (Windows button + E)

For your Netscape files look in the folder
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\yourname\cache
For your Explorer files look in the folder
C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

You might find lots of files that look like arrows and lines. All these came to your computer as different files when you downloaded a page.  As my cache file recently contained 13,247 files you don't want to look at them by filename.

A good way to take a quick look at these files is by clicking on the Date (last accessed) or Size. This way, you can quickly see the latest files downloaded or the largest. (likely the most significant pictures and programs).
