I did this picture for my wife because she loves lilies. I started with a graphite drawing, put some linseed oil on it to help melt the colored pencil, and did a thin, light blue oil wash on it. I then layered colored pencils on top of that. I like the subtle roughness that the splotchy oil wash added. I'm very pleased with the end result.
