The Telephony Booth

My Oldest Telephone

It is a Western Electric (genuine Bell) model 151 desk set, and 536A subset. Except for the 20 ft. mounting cord, it’s all original WE parts.

I rebuilt it from parts mostly found at a local flea market, and it’s in daily use.

Here’s a picture of my “Trimline” phones.

The colors (L to R) are: powder blue, chocolate brown, ivory, and beige. The one horizontal above the others is a GTE/Automatic Electric “Styleline”, in ivory. The rest are Western Electric (Genuine Bell). The one standing is a wall model, in beige. Most of these are rotary dial.

There’s another wall model missing.  It’s mounted on my parents’ computer table.

I also have two (2) generic trimline look alike phones.

These are my “Princess” phones.

One is hard wired, rotary dial, in avocado green and the other is full modular, twelve button touchtone, in ivory.
