The de Nevell Clan had a marvelous time at the Middle Kingdom
College of Youth on July 24th, 2004 in the Shire of Ravenslake. Tori,
Kj & Katie won the day claiming 4 of the Event's Tourney Prizes and
each receiving an Award of the Dragon's Treasure from the hands of
Their Majesties Felix and Madeleina.

The morning was full of classes in cooking, beading and fighting
technique which the de Nevell kids attended with great enthusiasm.
To fill a spur of the moment need Kirk learned the new
Youth Combat
rules on the spot and authorized up the next age group. Half way
through the Tourney another combatant entered in his normal age group
so KJ rose to the challenge and fought in both divisions so that the
other child could also fight. The fighting in the 9 and under group
was brilliant and Kirk won 3 out of 5 rounds. Though they declared the
other child the age group winner KJ was given special prize and
commendation from His Majesty Felix for his outstanding efforts and
his chivalry on the list field.
All the children at the event seemed to LOVE the
archery
and even out little Katie gave it a try with some help from Mom. After
picking up a bow for the first time, Victoria de Nevell spent most of
her day on the line and went on to win the Archery Tourney defeating
many kids with much more experience.
Even
His Majesty Felix
joined in the shoot where he took aim at an army of rabid stuffed
animals advancing on His Kingdom's precious youth. The crowd of
children surrounded him and cheered as their King was victorious. :-)
All three of the de Nevell Children were honored with the
Award of
the Dragon's Treasure for their service to the Shire, Kingdom, and
Her Majesty Madeleina.
Then
following a stirring rendition of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Twinkle
Twinkle Little Star" during feast Katie de Nevell was made the
Ravenslake Junior Bard.
