An award winning artist for the past 48 years, Judith Lavelle is shown above, in 1975 at a Midwest Gallery exhibit. Judy
studied Fine Art at the University of Illinois, Northern Mich. And Sauk Valley College. Besides her Fine Art training in Oils, Judy studied Chalk art, under Ding Tueling, China painting with Darlene Clark, and Water Color under Lucille Young.
She taught adult and children’s art classes, for many years, and served as a past president of the Rock River Valley Art Assoc. Mrs.Lavelle has been an award winner in many shows over the years and judge of others. Since 1998, Judy has developed a passion for china painting. In 2002, her landscape painting on china was a winner in the Illinois division of the World Organization of China Painters, and was on exhibit, that year, in the Organization’s Kansas City Museum. Chalk is another media that Judy has used since 1976, to present non-denominational “Chalk Talks”, in churches, nursing homes, and club groups.
Judy's partner,in their Ruby Lane shop, "Antiques Are Us", is her daughter, Leanne,(shown with her husband of 20 years,Greg).’Leanne brings excitement and inspiration to the team,and will be exhibiting her tole painted furniture.
These are three of Judy's, seven grandchildren.
