Restoring Bridge 8

The Lebanon Branch of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad was completed from Lebanon Junction, KY (MP 33 on the mainline) to New Hope (MP 50 on the branch) in late 1857 and completed to Lebanon in early 1858. This line was in service before the mainline from Louisville to Nashville was completed. Part of the line crosses Pottinger's Creek with drops from the roadbed approaching 70 feet deep. Bridge 8 spans the creek at MP 48.9 and is in need of all new bridge ties, cushion blocks, and additional rail work. Contributions to this project may be made with our online secure donation form
