Silver and Gold Game & Watch

Ball
Release Date: April 28, 1980

The first Game & Watch on the market, and I remember playing this almost that long ago. This Game & Watch is a pretty simplistic and straight forward game in which you take on the role of a juggler. The game is pretty unintuitive as all you do is just simply juggle multiple balls and try not to drop them. Each ball that you catch will tack one more point onto your score but if you drop three it is all over. This game is also included as a hidden extra thing to play when you get so many stars in Game & Watch Gallery 2 for Gameboy Color.

Fire
Release Date: July 31, 1980

The object of the game is to catch people bailing out of a burning building which is sort of like the old 1970's movie the Towering Inferno. As they bail out of the building your job as a pair of emergency workers is to catch them as they come down and bound the victims into the waiting ambulance. Simple concept, quite a fun little game especially for its age. It seems that it was so popular that Nintendo included it in the Game & Watch Gallery 1 for Super Gameboy.

Flagman

Another of the original Game & Watch units and it is also not all that fun. In this boring game you just watch when flags go up and then manipulate some numbers on screen in a matching like game...whoopie! This boring little game is also playable as a hidden game on Game & Watch Gallery 3.

Helmet
Release Date: Feb. 2, 1981

An early and semi-amusing game in which you just simply run like hell across the yard to an open door avoiding tools raining down from above. The quicker you get through the door on the other side the more points you will get. You must beware though that the door will not stay open and when it does close pray you don't end up six inches shorter. This is one of the titles featured in Game & Watch Gallery 1 for Super Gameboy.

Judge
Release Date: Oct. 4, 1980

Another of those not too amusing for long original Game & Watch titles. In this game the idea is simple. There are two guys on screen, one which you are in control of. A number will appear on screen and if you have a higher number you get to hit the other guy. But if the number is the same hit him too, but if you get the lower number you better run for it or get whacked. Judge is also featured as a hidden game in Game & Watch Gallery 3 for Gameboy Color.

Lion
Release Date: Apr. 29, 1981

A pretty straight forward game in which you manipulate two lion trainers to keep some lions in their cage. The cage is split into three levels and the lions will move around and try to pop out of the cage by charging it. If you stand in front with your blocker the lion can not esacape. One false move though and your are kitty food, and a few hours later, the kitty's litter. Lion is also featured in Game & Watch Gallery 3 for Gameboy Color as a hidden game you can earn.

Manhole
Release Date: Jan. 29, 1981

A fairly straight forward game in which you watch the people go across and cover the manholes as they cross. If you don't cover up the open manholes in time they sink into the water and you lose. It's a bit fun and worth a look, as when it speeds up with lots of people on screen it gets quite hectic. This game was one of the four featured in Game & Watch Gallery 1 on Super Gameboy.

Vermin
Release Date: July 10, 1980

One of the Game & Watch's from the first year. This is an interesting little game where you play a nice round of whack-a-mole (remember that at Chuck E Cheese and Pizztime Theatre?) with mallets on four holes on the ground flattening vermin as they pop up. This game is one of the titles featured in the original Game & Watch Gallery for Super Gameboy.
