Partially just a shameless plug as the site hosts this page and because I am
the co-editor there. The real reason I am linking though is that we keep a
large amount of Game & Watch (and other handheld) unit "simulators" which
people can download. Basically the simulators look and act like the real
thing but the difference is, they're applications for your home computer. To
check out what we have just follow the link above and then move into that area
through the link called Game & Watch.
Now this is fun for all those who just can't afford to track down and buy an
original Game & Watch due to places like Ebay where morons drive up the value
way beyond where they belong. By following the link above you can obtain many
Game & Watch simulators for Windows9X machines that look and sound the same as
the original, and even some have the old manuals scanned and included in the
hardware as well as as added feature.
Madrigal "Luca Antignano" is the creator of quite a few handheld simulators
which simulate the functions of an original handheld. On his site you can
find all his works which include some of the Nintendo Game & Watch units. His
work is good and the simulators really show a lot of effort on his part.
Another simulator maker like Luca Antignano just above. If you would like to
try your luck at such games as Mario's Cement Factory and Balloon Fight just
follow the link above and have a little fun.
Here is a third page with more great simulators to try out. This simulator
created on this page by Dan Bergman is for the old Game & Watch Manhole (the
Silver & Gold) edition. Why not head on over and try out this classic.
Now this is what I call amazing! What we have here is a fully functional Java
applet version of the original Donkey Kong Game & Watch from 1982. This java
game simply amazes me from it's accuracy so why not give it a try.
Here is yet another of those great fully functional Java applet Game & Watch
units, and this time it is Parachute. This java game amazes me just about as
much as the Donkey Kong applet due to its accuracy so go ahead and try it out.
If you were ever looking for a name, company name, or possibly a value or
original release date of any handheld device this is the place to go. Clint
also hosts the
Handheld Extravanga The Handheld Web Ring!
This is what I call "THE" place to go for your Game & Watch needs. The site
is very well laid out and has lots of information on the handhelds. Also on
the site there are forums to do some business in, your own mail account if you
want one, and some other misc things worth taking a look at.
I imagine this is probably a really great page due to the amount of content
there. Sadly though this page is in German and I don't read that language so
only time and a translation will tell.
Now this is a pretty decent Game & Watch page. On this site you can find some
personal reviews by the owner of the site for many of the Game & Watch units
as he possesses almost all of them. There are some nice high quality pictures
and good reviews to take a look at so stop on by.
Now here is another of those fan sites just like the one above that has some
incredibly good content due to the fact the author owns almost all the Game &
Watch units. The page has some nice pictures and information which even
includes an interesting page covering some of the technical information about
the insides of various Game & Watch units.
Another fan site to wow over due to the nice content of the page. This page
seems to focus mainly on his collection and helping himself and others to
expanding their collections through trades and purchases. The page also
features a nice master list of all the Game & Watch units in existance.
Yet another of those well done fan sites that I felt deserved a link. On this
site you can find out about the owners collection, his high scores, some basic
history, various lists, reviews, and other information.
Ever curious what the patent papers and mockups for the Nintendo Game & Watch
looked like? Serve your curiousity well by following the link above as the
information is interesting, entertaining, and *gulp* educational too.
