Crooked Creek Water Ski Club Bylaws
Article 1 Mission
- The Name of this club shall be the Crooked Creek Water Ski Club
- The purpose of the Crooked Creek Water Ski Club (Hereinafter
referred to as the "Club") is to promote the sport of water
skiing through the group participation, exhibitions, tournaments, teaching
boy scout to water ski and associated recreational activities; develop and
maintain facility for water skiing. This will include develop and improve
our relationship with the boy scouts.
- The club is established as a non-profit Organization.
Article 2 Membership
- Application for membership in the club shall be made in the manner
prescribed by the Membership Committee. An application for membership
shall first be referred to the President for consideration. If he approves,
such application shall then be submitted to the club for approval. A
favorable vote of the club and meeting all requirements of the Boy Scouts
is required. The applicant shall then become a member of the Club upon
payment of the required dues.
- A member may resign form the club at any time upon notice in
writing addressed to the President.
- Membership in the club may be terminated by non-payment of dues or
not fulfilling member responsibility to meet the boy scouts requirements.
Termination of membership for any member shall not release the said member
from the obligation to pay all dues owed to the end of the period of the
membership. Membership may also be terminated for any reason by a
three-quarters vote of the club members at any regular or special meeting.
- There will only be 13 members to the club. (amended from 11 members
fall of 2005)
Article 3 Officers
- The board of directors shall consist of the President/Treasurer and
a Vice President / Secretary and a Club Maintenance Leader.
- All members of the board of Directors shall hold office for one
year or until their successors are duly elected and qualified.
- The election shall be in Oct of each year.
Article 4 Ski time and Dues
and Obligation
- Each member will pay a $500 entry fee (first year only) and $1100
each year. (Amended 4/17/04 to include $1000 boat payment and $100 dues,
amended again 2006 for the $500 entry fee). Money is to be turned in by
June 1st each year.
- Each member will schedule time to teach the Boy Scouts. The member
will provide his or her own boat and gas, etc. Members who are owners of
the club boat may use it for teaching purposes. If a member fails to
fulfill his teaching time as scheduled it will be grounds for termination.
- Each member is responsible for training 3 sessions with the scouts
and 1 workday.

- Each member must be an AWSA Member and boat is insured under Ski
Safe.
- Each member must obey Camp Crooked Creek rules and work with all
camp and Boy Scout personnel.
- Guest: Family members under the age of 18 are not guests but
considered part of the membership. They will ski in the member's turn. You
may bring a guest two times a year. They must be USA Water ski members and
sign all waver forms.
- Follow the agreement laid out between the club and Boy Scouts. This
includes but is not limited to Ski time, training and becoming a Boy Scout
counselor.
