For those of you who booked travel ahead of time, Tuesday, July 15, is the due date for final payments. You don't want to lose your reservation, your room, your seat, or your deposit. Give Sharon a call and she'll take care of everything! Make sure you speak to Sharon and NOT Carolyn.

Please note that as of April 9 we have lost our reserved seats/pricing. We were only able to hold them for so long. It's now first come-first served! As we've said from the beginning, there are only so many seats available on the flight from Atlanta, and only so long the prices will stay so low, so call Sharon and reserve your spot as soon as you can!!!

Rates
Right now (3/03/03), prices are estimated between $765-$885 per person (children 13+ count as adults) for 3 nights, depending on the hotel you choose within the complex. A 7-night stay costs around $1215/person at the most expensive hotel of the bunch, and decreases according to the hotel you choose. (Please note that all costs are quoted for a double room. Costs decrease if you have three people in a room, with four as the maximum.) Total costs for any hotel includes the following:

  • Round-trip airfare on a chartered flight
  • Taxes
  • Gratuity
  • All food
  • All beverages, including the mini-bar AND the liquour drink tap that's built into your wall (no kidding)
  • All activities (of which there are many) except off-resort excursions and motorized watersports
  • All resorts in the 5-hotel Riu complex except the Palace. If you are staying in the Palace, you have access to everything. (If you're not at the Palace, you may still enter for the wedding & reception.)

Singles
Please let us know if you will be coming without a partner. With your permission, we will match you up with someone (ladies with ladies, men with men) because it costs more to come as a single. It's in your best interest to share a room. They only have double rooms, so you are paying for the double room although you're a single.

International Travel Info for the Dominican Republic

  • You will have to go through Customs in Punta Cana when you arrive and in Atlanta on the way home.
  • You must purchase a US$10.00 tourist card upon arrival in the Dominican Republic. This is not included in the cost of the trip. It will, however, allow you to stay for up to 3 months!
  • There are no departure taxes.
  • We highly recommend getting a passport, if you don't already have one. Although a passport is not required and you can get into the country with a state-issued ID and your birth certificate with a raised seal , it is much easier and quicker if you have a passport. If you don't yet have a passport and want one, do the following:
    • Go to Kinko's and get a $10 (approx.) picture taken. Apparently you can also go to the Tri-County area AAA and get a free photo taken if you're a AAA member.
    • Go to your local post office and apply for a passport. You'll need to take your birth certificate with a raised seal and a state-issued ID. We recommend doing this as soon as possible, as it's expensive and difficult to do at the last minute, but pretty darned easy if you get started early.
    • We are suggesting a passport due to recommendations from the American Embassy in the DR. For more information on this, click here.
