Classes
for Children
We specialize in teaching boys and girls starting at age 5. Our intention
is to make children feel good about themselves, and to be in physical and
mental control. Our teaching methods are sensitively tailored to meet the
needs of individual learning differences. All children are taught at their
own individual pace and are never pressured to perform beyond their capabilities.
The rigors of participation in the martial arts develop sportsmanship
and courage, perseverance and discipline, poise, and respect for others
while promoting self-confidence and a positive self-image. No doubt these
are the qualities most needed by all of us as we are faced with the problems
and troubles of these difficult times.
In some cases, our school may provide child therapy. For example, self-confidence
attained from learning how to defend themselves makes the very shy, withdrawn
child more outgoing and confident, or makes the very aggressive child more
calm and respectful toward others. As parents, you will truly be amazed
at the positive difference in attitude your child will develop after taking
professional classes at the Ron Reed School. He or she will walk proudly
with their head held high.

Why
Study the Martial Arts?
While self-defense is the most common reason for studying the martial
arts, there are other equally important reasons, including physical fitness,
weight and figure control, and self-confidence. But, whatever the reason
for studying the martial arts, the new student will quickly become aware
of the many benefits of training.
Martial arts students feel healthy and physically fit. They are confident
that they are learning to defend themselves; and this quiet confidence
filters through all phases of their life including home, job and school.
Furthermore, as students progress in the martial arts, they develop a greater
respect for themselves and for others.

Women
& The Martial Arts
No other activity offers women the benefits that can be obtained through
martial arts.
Although such activities as tennis, racquetball, and weight training
offer good physical exercise, they do not teach you how to defend yourself.
From the self-defense training at our school, you will learn how to effectively
take care of yourself, should a confrontation occur. Furthermore, because
of the invigorating classes, your body will stay firm, trim, and graceful.
