HERITAGE OF NIPPON KETSUGO RYU

The Nippon Ketsugo Ryu/Kenpo System was founded in 1981 by Larry D. Hilton.  Professor Hilton had trained extensively in the Martial Arts of Judo, Karate, Kenpo, Aiki Jutsu and Wing Chun for over 23 years before combining the best of each of these arts.

He felt that each system had something to offer and yet each one had some concepts that would only work in a sport arena.  His life has been dedicated to training and researching that which would work in the street.

Professor Hilton's instructors were:  Carlton (Pat) Burke in Judo and Korean Self Defense.  Mr. Burke senseis were Dae Shin Kim and Higaano Oshiama.  In Taiho Ryu Karate, he trained with Shihan Bo Hardy.  In Aiki Jutsu, he trained with Dr. Tom Burdine.  In JuJitsu, he trained with Dr. Rod Sacharnoski, Professor D. Wrobel, Shihan R. Yamanaka, Grandmaster Florendo Visitacion and Shihan James R. Gaines.

Professor Hilton earned his 8th Dan Hanshi in Hakutsury Jujitsu and his 6th Dan in Olkiryu Kenpo Jutsu.  He was also cross graded by Professor V to 8th Dan in VeeJitsu Jujitsu in 1987.  The professor trained with Master Chaun Al in Wing Chun for approximately 2 years.

The combination of these Arts, along with boxing and street concepts led to the creation of NIPPON KETSUGO RYU in 1981.
