Trail Description

This 10k walk follows established shaded trails consisting of paved, natural and some rocky terrain. Walkers will pass through a virgin forest, a restored pioneer village, by sinkholes, caves, sparkling streams and a lake. All this and more are a part of this beautiful trail. This trail is not acceptable for strollers, wagons or wheelchairs.

Checkpoint

There are 3 checkpoints described in the directions. You will need a pencil to write answers on the start card. Restrooms and water are available at the Inn and seasonally on the trail.

Registration

The event is open to everyone, however, each participant must obtain a start card. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Park and enter Spring Mill Inn
Identify yourself as a volkswalker to the front desk attendant
Complete all information in the log book
Obtain start card with trail map & direction

Upon completion of the walk, place map and the appropriate fee if you are walking for the award or credit in one of the marked boxes.

Fees

Everyone is welcome and the event is FREE to persons who wish to participate without an award or IVV credit. There will be no refunds.

The park entrance fee is $5.00 for Indiana residents and $7.00 for out-of-state residents. May - November

Award

The award is a colorful 2 1/4 inch die cast medal with a state park bar attached and to which additional bars may be added
