We are a Non-For-Profit,
community service, leadership training organization for individuals between the ages of 18-40.
The Junior Chamber (JAYCEES) is an international organization. We provide individuals a way to
learn new skills by participating in or organizing community service projects. Here are some
examples of how we have helped out our community.
- We helped raise money for the Skyrise Apartments.
- We have helped with the Pinewood Derby, by providing manpower and the trophies for 28 years.
- We have regularly scheduled blood drives for Northern Illinios Blood Bank.
- We make donations to the Red Cross Homeless Shelter.
- We participated in the Adopt-A-Highway Program.
- In the past, we provided toys and meals for families in our community.
We run a number of different
projects thoughout the year, some are annual and some depend on what the members want to run. There
are four basic areas of the Jaycees: Community Development, Individual Development, Membership Development,
and Management Development.
- COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
- These projects are designed to help the community in some way.
- INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT
- These projects are designed to improve the member as individuals.
- MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- These projects are designed to spread the word about the Jaycees and to recruit new members.
- MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
- These projects are designed to improve members skills in the areas of plannning and organization.
