Artist Gayle Timmons, of Louisville, Kentucky, spent eighteen years developing her skills while living in Los Angeles, California. Having been inspired by the "Memphis collection," Gayle became an originator of the painted furniture as art trend in 1980. The addition of trompe l'oeil objects to her furniture led to requests for trompe l'oeil murals and faux finish. As a result of her reputation and skill, Gayle has taught her technique at UCLA and UCSB.

Gayle's furniture and murals have been featured in House Beautiful, Designers West, and numerous local publications. Her residential clients include such notables as Janet Jackson, Bette Midler, Henry Mancini, and Jerry Weintraub. The extensive list of commercial sites for her murals include: Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino, Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, The Excalibur Hotel and Casino, The Tropicana, Caesars, and Royal Carribean Cruise Lines.

Gayle is currently residing in Louisville, Kentucky and is painting portraits and murals for individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations. An example of Gayle's work can be seen in the children's area at the Bon Air Public Library.
