Randi’s Biography

 

Randi Lynn Mrvos is a homeschool teacher and artist. She is a freelancer writer, who has written numerous articles for homeschooling magazines, as well as children’s, writers’, parenting and scientific publications. 

 

For five years she has written lessons and taught summer homeschool.  Mrvos has published lesson plans on the Internet for the Lesson Plans Page and for the Homeschooling Companion magazine.  Her lesson plans have been published in the Scholastic Books series Best Ever Activities for Grades 2 - 3, and the Gryphon House series The Giant Encyclopedia of Monthly Activities.   Several of her craft activities have been published in Highlights for Children and Fun for Kidz.   

 

Mrvos is a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), a columnist for The Creativity Connection, an associate editor for Viatouch.com, and a former consultant for Pearson Digital Learning.  Her publishing credits also include Byline, Mothering, The Christian Scientist Monitor, and Tomorrow’s Child. 

 

She has received awards for poetry and short stories from the Friends of the Decatur Public Library, The Great Blue Beacon, Green River Writers and the Adams Media.  Also, she has been nominated for Who’s Who of American Women.
