And I wondered what in the world I could possibly offer that would be of interest; whenever I hear anything dot-related its OLD news. But now I think I may have stumbled upon something. Quite accidentally I stumbled upon a psychodots MySpace page. And they only have 39 firends?!?! It says its their "official" page. So come on peeps - show the dots so me love and become their friend! The page is www.myspace.com/psychodots. And if you want to be my friend too its www.myspace.com/purplefurnace. He's such a nice guy he gave me top billing - but - I still play first at 9:30 - ish. I'll be debuting a couple of new compositions which I am currently very fond of. It's always a pleasant and casual affair. Unless there's a fight. If things play out as usual, Righteous Bob will be slinging pints, the room will be full of love, and we Pikers will be loud and sweaty. If you've not been before, it's a beautiful thing. Last year's set inspired I See Sound's Dale Johnson to write, "the show blew the doors off of almost everything I=92ve seen in the last year." We're playing some newish songs ("new" being relative when you play 3x a year), and will be joined by our Columbus pals the Woolsey Band, Medicine Hat (Chicago), Zack Broocke (Los Angeles), and Caddle (Birmingham). We hope to see you. While you're planning your weekend o' rock, pencil in the following: - Clabbergirl @ Cooper's - Friday, 11pm Like Izzy returning to lend Axl a hand, I rejoin the CG juggernaut, bringing back my Vic Chesnutt-on-meth rhythm guitar stylings for one glorious night. - Libertines US @ Guido's Corner Tap (Court Street) - Friday, 1:15am. I rarely pimp friends' Midpoint shows because there are too many to mention and I fear leaving someone out. I'm making an exception for the Libertines US -- not just one of my two favorite local bands of all time, but one of my fave all-time bands, period. Their recent reunion sets show they've lost nothing off their fastball. Go. As always, huge props to Sean, Bill & the Midpoint volunteer army for making Main Street come alive. Like Frampton.
