I didn't see > his name anywhere. Actually Nick, his name IS listed in the full-page ad in Guitar Player, as well as the name of the Bears site. I've yet to check out the Kustom website. I hope they're making it known to the rest of the world who Rob is, since WE already know! > Didn't someone design an amp for him around a yr. ago? I seem > to recall someone posting info about his new amp on this list. Gordon Rankin has been building guitar amps for the past three years or so and Rob was one of the folks that he was consulting with during his process. Rob used one of Gordon's amps on-stage at both Canal Street and SouthgateHouse during last year's shows. Gordon has assembled some fine work since beginning his line of amps. He's more of a "tube purist" though, I think. I don't know for sure, but I get the impression from the Kustom ad that the wAv is more of a "modeling" sort, trying to emulate a variety of previous/current tube amps. Just a guess on my part. Gordon's site link is here if you're interested: http://www.guitar-engines.com/solo.html Have a good (and SAFE) Holiday weekend, all!! Jim PS: I'm glad that both dates (Canal Street AND SouthgateHouse) are confirmed. I heard thru the wires that something might develop over and above those two staples. Keep your fingers crossed! ++ psychodots ++ Date: Fri, 03 Sep 2004 23:10:28 -0500 From: ashley morris Subject: Gigs and amps, amps and gigs. There's no way I'd buy that Kustom amp unless it came in the 1970s model Kustom tuck-and-roll blue sparkle naugahyde. But I heard they can't sell those anymore because of the tragedy of clubbing baby naugas in antarctica. So, what are you gonna do on thanksgiving? Me, I'm going to eat some skyline and see a show or two: >From Monsieur Fetters (who was too busy to respond himself, as he was inundated with mail at his post as chairman of the Zell Miller fan club): PSYCHODOTS TO PLAY CANAL ST IN FAIR DAYTON NOVEMBER 24th 2004!!!
