The Pleasant Perk is in Pleasant Ridge on Montgomery Road near Ridge, directly across Montgomery from Everybody.s Records and next to the Dubliner. Directions at www.graveblankets.com, thanks to Jeffrey Burroway. We'll be previewing even more songs from the still-nearly-finished GC solo record, as well as other eccentricity not to be missed. Wide-awake at midnight, you protest? I happen to know that your bookshelves have needed re-organization for quite some time now, and a sleepless Sunday 2am would be just the time to do it. Sincerely, Somnambulingham P.S. Yes, Faux Frenchmen every Monday at Tink.s, 6:30-9pm. ++ psychodots ++ Date: Wed, 10 Mar 2004 19:39:06 -0500 From: Jeffrey A Burroway Subject: new arduser disc in the works?? recent word from chris arduser hints a new solo cd is in the works...he's tinkering with a group of 10-15 unfinished songs. --jeff b ++ psychodots ++ Date: Wed, 10 Mar 2004 20:01:11 -0500 From: Jeffrey A Burroway Subject: Does Cincy rock? Yes, Cincy rocks! http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/03/10/tem_cincyrock10.html Esquire has placed Cincinnati at No. 7 among the top 10 "Cities That Rock." The list is included in Things a Man Should Know About Music: A Guide to 2004, a booklet featured inside the April issue, on sale Tuesday. Cities were judged on the quality of music scenes, stores and concert venues. Pittsburgh took the top spot, followed by Denver, Minneapolis, Raleigh, N.C., Gainesville, Fla., New Orleans, Phoenix/Tempe and San Francisco. Frankly, local promoter Dan McCabe thinks Cincinnati should have come in even higher. "Southgate House is an amazing resource that draws from the entire region and has helped break bands like the Strokes and Interpol, the neighborhood bars have been really supportive and all the local music coming out of here right now is just incredible," he said. "What's cool ... is that the people conjuring the music are not trying to mimic what they hear on the radio, it's fresh and completely original." ++ psychodots ++ Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 11:05:16 -0500 From: MHaverl841@aol.com Subject: Canal Street tavern- Where will the dot's play? Hi all from Dayton, as a close observer of all things Canal Street, I can share with you that Mick Montgomery has every intention of keeping CST alive, and actually wants to enhance it's next life as a music venue. He has his eye on a "perfect space", but can't move on it until he gets a viable offer on the current property..so don't fret, CST will live-on, and wherever it lands in Dayton, the psychodots will have hallowed ground upon which to play! P.S. May I be one of the first to request the dot's "close-out" the "Old" CST, to allow the mojo of the music past to follow them to the new space (whenever and wherever that will be)?! Peace- Mike ++ psychodots ++ Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 13:01:53 -0700 From: "John Gill" Subject: Re: Psycho Daily: Does Cincy rock? Yes, Cincy rocks! Don't believe everything you read. Phoenix/Tempe is overrated, especially when it comes to the LOCAL music scene. And I agree wholeheartedly with Mr. McCabe that the Queen City should rate higher. For weather, yes, I'll take Phoenix. For music, Cincinnati, anyday.
