On Wednesday, Thanksgiving eve, guitarist Rob Fetters, bassist Bob Nyswonger and drummer Chris Arduser return to the intimate confines of Dayton's Canal Street Tavern. The 10 p.m. show will have no opening act, and younger, under-18 fans can attend if an adult accompanies them. Call 937-461-9343 for ticket availability. On Friday, the threesome performs at Newport's Southgate House, featuring the much-buzzed-about Kim Taylor Band as an opener. As with all 'dots-related shows, smoking is not permitted inside either venue. While no official psychodots recordings are in the works, the band is still staying busy. The Bears, which also features guitar-hero Adrian Belew, are once again being reactivated, following a successful new album and a couple of well received tours. Fetters reports that the group has begun laying tracks for a new release that they hope to have ready around this time next year. The anticipated DVD, featuring footage from a Bears show in Pittsburgh from last year's tour, is just about completed. The concert was filmed at the Club Cafe, which is a fully "wired" facility, enabling multi-camera filming. Fetters says they'd like to have the DVD ready by the holidays, or by early 2004 at the very latest. The quartet will likely do a few club dates in the meantime, as early as February or March of next year. While Nyswonger and Arduser stay busy on the local club circuit with several projects (Tickled Pink, The Bluebirds, Graveblankets, etc.), Fetters has been dutifully completing a new solo album for release next year. The project will be Fetters' first since his 1998 solo debut, Lefty Loose Righty Tight (recently re-issued and available at cdbaby.com ), and, according to the man himself, will feature "the usual assortment of unpopular Pop songs." ++ psychodots ++ End of Psycho Depot 370 Nov 26, 2003 Comments, suggestions, postings, and administrative or the switch between digest and daily versions of the Depot (or be on both!): Mike Brown depot @ psychodots.com To order psychodot merchandise: contact Stan Hertzman of Umbrella Artists and Strugglebaby Records shertzman@cinci.rr.com 513 871-1500 Voice 513 871-1510 Fax and Hal Bernard Enterprises, Inc., 2612 Erie Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45208 For back issues (2 ways): Email: Tony Nowikowski tony@nowikowski.com or Web Site: http://home.insightbb.com/~p-dots/ Check out the psychodot Home Page at: http://www.psychodots.com Check out the graveblankets Home Page at: http://graveblankets.com Check out the Bears Home Page at: http://www.thebearsmusic.com Check out the Ricky Nye Home Page at: http://www.rickynye.com
