Data Communication is the backbone of business today. New technologies in communication help businesses overcome geographical barriers that once hindered them. Industries can decide what form of communication suits their needs and the needs of their customers. Information is communicated in four forms: voice, data, image, and video. Voice communication is considered telephone related communications. Data communication is thought to be limited to text. Image and video communication are used to send images and video just as voice and data communications send voice and data. An example of image communication is a fax machine and video communication is a videoconference.
