X1W Kits From TAPR
The X1W kits had their debut at the DCC hosted by TAPR held at San Diego in September of 2005. If you are interested, visit the TAPR site. Descriptions for the kits are below.
X1W-1 Indoor Sensor/Interface Kit - includes indoor temperature, barometric pressure, rain gauge interface, EMP sensor interface, aspirator control for the X1W-2 outdoor kit, rain gauge heater control, RS-232 interace, 1-Wire loop-thru and provisions for a user provided 1-Wire iButton clip and device. The rain gauge interface can be changed to work with the RM60 or RM70 radiation monitor from Aware Electronics. The EMP and rain-gauge interface may optionally be placed on the X1W-2.
X1W-2 Outdoor Sensor/Interface Kit - includes outdoor temperature and humidity. The humidity sensor is the new improved HIH-4000 series recently released by Honeywell. If the kit builder has bought the X1W-1 Indoor kit, the EMP and rain gauge interface may be optionally placed on this board.
X1W-4 EMP Sensor Kit - provides a simple means of detecting nearby lightning activity. It was designed to used with the EMP interface built into the X1W-1 or X1W-2 kits. The sensor output is open-collector and provides a momentary circuit closure when a cloud-to-ground strike is detected.
The kit manuals are available on line at the TAPR web site. Pictures of the kits are shown below.
