This page is dedicated to Rendezvous and Muzzleloading Events. At Morgan County we hold three Rendezvous a year and a two day shoot in August. We will post the latest information on our upcoming Rendezvous on this page. Also, we will be posting the dates of other Indiana Clubs Events and Rendezvous and the contact information. If your club is having a Rendezvous and would like for us to post it on this page, contact us and we will be happy to include it.

Dennis Morgan advises, "When setting up the one pole tent I have found that inserting a quarter inch screw, leaving it about an inch long, into the top end of the main center pole. This helps keep the pole from slipping out of the wooden block in the top of the tent during setup."
Rubbing alcohol with Wintergreen makes an effective insect repellent, according to Frank Cooley. Frank said he has been using Wintergreen Alcohol for years to keep insect away while he fishes. He keeps it in a spray bottle so he does not get it on his hands, because it will keep the fish as well as bugs from biting. Take a small bottle of it to Rendezvous and rub it on your clothes and exposed skin when the bugs become a problem.
Candle lanterns are the easiest and safest way to light a "primitive camp". So, buckskinners are usually looking for a good source of candles. The past couple of years I have found candles on sale at my local grocery store the week after Christmas. They had a whole grocery cart full of 12-inch taper candles in red, green, and white (for the buckskinner/reenactor, white is the color to pick. It was the fashionable color for candles, beeswax that was to be made into candles was left out in the sun to bleach out so the resulting candles would be white), and they were selling them for 14-cents a piece. To use these in your lanterns, you will want to break them in half to fit in your lantern. I have a period candle mold, and I have found that I can melt down the store bought candles to make my period candles for less then I could buy candle wax for!
