Ok, Pyrokinesis isn't my usual "guilty pleasure", it's not old...but it is Japanese. I'll admit that my initial reaction was that this looked like the J version of Firestarter...but I really liked Firestarter. I also like revenge flicks, and this is both. We have a well done movie here with good acting and interesting characters, unlike some of the movies that I review. Ok, there are people with psychic powers, but it's not done cheesy.

I was intrigued by the trailer on one of the other DVDs I picked up recently and had considered ordering this movie from Amazon, but I managed to find a previously viewed copy at Blockbuster much cheaper. I wasn't disappointed at all and I would feel confident in recommending this movie to anyone that doesn't mind reading subtitles.

The special fire effects are very well done as well. I don't think you'd like to see people burned to death any more realistic than in this film. If you find you liked this movie, tell your friends. I feel I've done my job if I've exposed someone to a cool flick that they would have otherwise never seen.
