Has it really been 20 years? I graduated from high school in 1987...and The Monster Squad was a favorite of mine and my circle of friends. The Monster Squad isn't the group of monsters united against humanity...nope, the Monster Squad is a group of kids that are all fans of the movie monsters! And these aren't just any monsters...these are the Universal Monsters: Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, The Mummy, Wolfman and the Creature (Gillman). A fun adventure story where the fate of the world is in the hands of a bunch of horror movie fans. Are you a virgin? If you haven't seen Monster Squad you're in for a treat!

I was lucky enough to meet Andre Gower, the star of Monster Squad, at the 2007 Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville and do an interview with him for PodCulture.

Fred Dekker wrote and directed Monster Squad, he also wrote Night of the Creeps (1986), House (1986) and Robocop 3 (1993). Shane Black co-wrote this...he's done a few other little movies like Predator, The Last Boyscout, the Lethal Weapon series and The Long Kiss Goodnight.
