The Best of The Worst |

As usual, you will either love or hate this film. I admit that a lot of it's charm for me is nostalgia. I forced my father to take me to see this when it was released theatrically in the US. Watching it now I can only imagine the torture it would have been for him. But I loved it! I was a big ULTRAMAN fan, and this was the closest thing available. It's fun, action packed mayhem. A violent chinese version of the Power Rangers. I was also a fan of The Six Million Dollar Man, and this guy, Inframan, volunteers to be turned into a cyborg...how cool is that? Big rubber suited monsters, running around, destroying things, laughing...doing the bidding of an asian queen with long blonde hair that's been suspended uderground for centuries. And don't forget the skeleton men, guys in black jumpsuits and motorcycle helmets that have skull faces and bone style designs on their costumes. The heroes are a science patrol style group in silver "futuristic" style uniforms...and there's losts of them. Plenty of pseudo-science dialogue and crazy martial arts action...you won't have time to notice the silly plot and over the top acting. If you happen to be drunk with your friends, bring out this movie...or, if you have the kids over and want to watch something zany, it's good for that as well. As always, enjoy it at your own risk! |
