The Best of The Worst |

Galaxina is not bad to look at, but don't look too deep. Apparently it was supposed to be a sexy spoof of such Sci-Fi shows as Star Trek and Alien. It's enjoyable, but doesn't live up to the potential, nor did it fully utilize PMOY Dorothy Stratten. She plays a sexy android that pilots the ship full of stupid space cops sent on a mission to retrieve the "Blue Star" a powerful alien artifact. It may have been a much better viewing experience back when it was released, but even it's decent for 1980 special effects don't save a lame script with obvious jokes (although some are still funny). When the plot is an android and a human fall in love and you have a beautiful playmate in the lead...I think you could have made a much better movie by showing a little skin. The "R" rating would probably be a "PG" by todays standards. The highlight of this relic is the appearance of the classic 1966 TV Batmobile parked in the background on an old west set thats doubling as an alien planet. This is worth watching, but check it out before you buy it. |
